71 Into The Fire
Friday, November 8, 2013
it's 6am and I still have something to do at this hour, but I might have to delay it because I really have to share this...........................................................
so because of the super typhoon Yolanda that just passed by our country, I was stuck in a bored-up day [blackout in the whole city] yesterday which made me end up sleeping the whole afternoon and already in bed at 9pm; woke up at 11pm and then 3am, and never got back to sleep again [but good news, electricity was back]............................
so in effect I turned on my laptop and started scrolling over my downloaded stuff and clicked play on this movie,
71 Into the Fire
it's a movie based on a true story way back during the WW2 times, where the North and South Korea were in a full scale war.............. there's these 71 student soldiers recruited to fight the war. they were stationed at
Pohang girls school and eventually served their mission well. they were able to delay the North Korean attack by 11 hours, enough for the South Korean soldiers to prepare as well.
so yeah, very nice movie. I was particularly moved by TOP's character, Oh Jang Beom. he started from a rattling student soldier to a fearless commander in charge of the
70 other student soldiers. and yes, his character was very witty.
what happened with those students really gave me an "awe" towards them knowing how fearless they were just to protect their country. [whether or not those scenes were the whole truth or some of them were already fictionalized, doesn't matter though, it's just the thought of seeing them so fearless amazes me.]
[SPOILER ALERT!!] I love how it ended up.... like all 71 of them died in honor, sacrificing their lives for
their country. I mean, I was murmuring to myself how sad would it be it he and his comrade "Go Gab Jo" would die after fighting so fearlessly, but then again, how can a true story adaptation have a cliche ending...... this is not Disney after all.... kekeke.....

now as I think back to it, while I was watching, I was not completely, like a hundred percent, concentrating on what I was watching, I was, almost 10-15% of the time giving out random comments about how great and handsome and manly and cool TOP was.....
[kyaaa! seriously, he look so cool. even though he's quite chubby in this one that his eyes seemed smaller and more closer to each other compared to if he's thinner.]

and yeah, did you know, Kwon Sang Woo also starred in the movie. [as the juvenile who instead of going to jail, chose to fight the war against the communist north.]
well well well..... I end here.... this movie is really great, my friends haven't gone wrong then they recommended this movie to me...... honestly don't know why warfare movies seem to interest me a lot..... by a lot means, really "a lot"... aahhahah
PS thank you Steph for the copy!!!!!
