BIGBANG MADE - BaeBae & Loser
Thursday, April 30, 2015
BIGBANG IS BACK!
Yes you heard right, Big Bang is back as a 5 member group after 3 long awaited years! [I know right fans, this is like whew!]

and because this is like something special, I wouldn't even miss having them on my blog!

The group is back with a world tour to treat the fans and two music videos (as of the moment); BaeBae and Loser.

Like what has been told, BAEBAE is somewhat a 19+ MV. It's very fun and quirky actually, but it has a lot of symbolism here and there that are not really safe for little kids to see. so I won't really tackle very deep on this one. Just.......... go watch it!

Meanwhile, Loser as it's title suggests, gives off that very down and devastated feel. It talks about different instances of how men can possibly feel they are "losers" "cowards" "loners" or even "helpless" in life. It has this acoustic vibe that gives off that sad and melancholic feeling. I liked this song more among the two releases because it touches on how most people might be feeling. It's showing more of the realities and more people can relate to it.

What made this song even more moving is the music video. The music video conveys just what the song talks about. It showed how men, as strong as they want to be, can also crumble down and break.

My favorite part of the MV are TOP's parts. I think it's the perfect representation of this song. How strong and capable he is at one point but he cries the most out of misery when left alone.

.................

now don't tell me you haven't seen the MVs yet? check them out here! NOW!

It's Okay It's Love [random talks 101] "Just my style!"
Saturday, April 25, 2015
This won’t be my usual review. I’m just gonna talk randomly for this one. yeah, random talks 101!!

So while I was watching “It’s okay, It’s Love”, the first thing that came to my mind as I watched is that, “Jo In Sung is not that bad after all!”

Well by “bad” I didn’t mean he has “bad” visuals or he is a “bad” actor. It’s just, I think I didn’t really buy him before while I was watching That Winter The Wind Blows. There was simply something wrong in him on that drama that I started to have a little, just little, dislike on him. Well good thing it passed while I was watching this drama. I think maybe the character just didn’t suit him much in the other drama compared to this one. This one just fits him!

And speaking of something that “fits” I think the girl lead also is a perfect fit! Gong Hyo Jin was simply amazing! She did her character really well, and I think her visuals/image fits the character perfectly. [and yeah, ever had that feeling of seeing yourself in one character that you are watching? I really feel like Ji Hye Soo is so me...... (?) hahahaha!]

And again, speaking of a “perfect match”; Gong Hyo Jin and Jo In Sung are really a PERFECT
MATCH! Really, there was a something in their chemistry that fits just right like a couple of bricks placed together with no gaps at all! like everytime I see even just photos of them together, I get so jittery and spazz!!! kyaaa!!!! oh well..... ahhahahah

As I was trying to look deeply on what made them fit so perfectly with each other in this drama, I came up with a number of “maybes” that could possibly be a reason why.

1) Maybe because their visuals just fits together. It’s a perfect chemistry brought about their visuals. I mean, it's not because they're both good looking that they match, they’re not your “doll-visual” actors anyway, but both just have this certain charms behind their normal looking faces; and just maybe those unexplained charms fits together.

2) Maybe, because of the fact that they fit their characters very well that they also gave out a great job pushing out that seemingly natural chemistry that can’t be easily seen on other couples. Or;

3) Maybe because the whole drama was just made and directed very well that the outcome was just very beautiful and everything great about it was brought about that awesome production.

…. Oh well "maybe", bottom point is, this tandem is just perfect and I think that's one reason why this drama seems so good and I LIKE IT VERY MUCH!

Also, that type of relationship shared by both the lead characters is sooooo nice that it made me want to have that kind of relationship in the future as well. [Hashtag#: relationship goals!] this is my first time watching a couple in a drama and find myself get envious of them. Like how I suddenly wished I had someone too. uh! perfect!

I really think that what made this drama seem really good is how the casting was made. It seemed like the actors were deeply studied and considered just to be able to fit with each character. That no character laps was even allowed to happen in every aspect. Kudos!!

And yes, DO was very good in this one. His rookie actor awards were very well deserved.

Now it made me really think back why did I even delay watching this drama, when it’s just the right “feel good” drama for me. [well partly because I really didn't like Jo In Sung before. Hihihi. But now, I really like him already!]

Well, like what the couple, Ji Hye Soo and Jang Jae Yeol would always tell each other in this drama; for me this drama is “JUST MY STYLE!” nothing more nothing less!

JINUSEAN - the comeback after 11 years with TELL ME ONE MORE TIME
Monday, April 20, 2015
Our YG Seniors are back!! After 11 years of just working in the background of all the younger YG artists, JINUSEAN proves to us that their music was not buried behind their father images but it continues to burn.

JINUSEAN is back with their new single Tell Me One More Time [한번더말해줘] featuring Kpopstar3 alumni, and now YG trainee, Jang Hannah.

This song gives off that funky retro hip hop vibe that JINUSEAN always has throughout their years as artists. It sets itself apart from the rest of this generation's Hip Hop groves as it remains loyal to the two artists' generation kind of hip hop.

What I love about this new song is that, though different from the rest of the music released in today's generation, it's impact is as strong as they are. Why? simply because it is  old school; and old school never gets old! It stayed true to the JINUSEAN kind of music, which is more like

hip hop of the 90s; one thing that makes this a notch higher from the rest of the new releases recently. This two artists didn't even bother to change their style according to the latest trends but chose to revive the genre that is their own.

The MV itself is just as fun and funky as it's music. Everything just feels so random and chill [like 100% old school!!!!]. The video also featured some of our well loved artists, like S.E.S's Shoo, Epik High, HAHA and many more, who came and to have fun with the duo. With it's time machine concept, it somewhat takes us back to the evolution of music, particularly HipHop, throughout the years.

This is rather what "old school" fused with the modern technology is all about. With the laid back feels and chill yet funky grove, this song will be enjoyed by music lovers not only of our generation but of the older ones as well.

why don't you check out this irresistible music video, that will make you unleash your groves, up here!

KPOPSTAR Season4: Katie Kim vs Jeong Seung Hwan - a quick look on the contenders
Monday, April 6, 2015
This year's season of KPOP star is finally nearing it's end. And as an avid follower of the Survival Program, I dare to write my thoughts about the upcoming final round. I think this year's final round will be a total war. This year's finals would be a battle between Katie Kim's soulful music and Jeong Seung Hwan's ballad sentiments. These two contenders has been on a lookout for the judges and viewers the like since they had been showing strong performances since round1

Different from the previous years' finals rounds (where season1 was a battle of girl sentiments, season2 was a battle of potentials and season3 was a battle of guy sentiments), this year's finals would be a battle of talent, skills and individuality in music. Since they are of different genres, the grounds for judging would come down to how much they explore, improve and embrace their own music.

Now let's try to look even closer to each contestant.

KATIE KIM: The 20 year old slow-speaking diva from the USA. Her prowess comes with her soulful voice made complete with a touch of RnB and perfect rhythm. [I dare say her soul sentiment is in comparable!]. She may seem coy for just about everything, but when she starts singing, she can turn the tables with her feels! Having crisis during the battle auditions with a poor performance, she managed to come up to TOP10 with the help of YG's chance coupon. She performed g.o.d's "Place Where You Need to Be" and received tremendous applause for the TOP10 round. After which she had nowhere to go but up in the succeeding rounds. Indeed, her parent's decision for sending her to Berklee College of Music is starting to pay off.
One of her best performances include the Fugees' "Killing me Softly" that left the judges with unrest on their seats during round2.

check out her over the top soulful rendition of Killing Me Softly

JEONG SEUNG HWAN: The senior high school Balladeer who chose to sneak out from the study hall to audition for KPOPSTAR. At first glance, you would never expect that this teenage boy would pull off ballads in a way even better than any other singers at present. His strength comes with his deep sentiments that punches right through the heart every time he sings. I dare say, he's the future of Gayo! [I can rightly imagine him singing for every other OST for dramas in the future.] He might not be your pretty boy type, but his personality, attitude and talent exudes in manliness that overthrows every other visual-singers out there; even the judges are falling for him.
One of his best performances include Kim Jo Han's "I Want to Fall in Love" which unexpectedly topped Gaon charts overthrowing other songs performed by professional singers.

check it out here!

Even though their song choices might be obvious, the way they render each song and transform them into their own is very unpredictable. Indeed, this season's final round would be the battle of a lifetime and you should not dare miss it.

KPOPSTAR SEASON4 FINAL ROUND, April 12, on SBS.

update:
KATIE KIM is the new KPOPSTAR!!!! She also decided to join YG Entertainment to help her succeed in the music industry. [yey!!!]
