I know you're either waiting for this review or looking forward for me telling you that I will be/ I am reviewing 2ne1's new MVs...... well I tell you what...... I'm cramming both tonight..... sooooooooooo.........let's have this review started!...
MAINSTREAM... the one and only word I could best describe this comeback.....
the SONG was seriously mainstream.... now if you're familiar with other k-groups' songs, you would seriously mistaken the intro for a number of songs in the hallyu wave (let's say, most esp. After School's "Dressing Room")
now the MV...................................... ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh?????.................
sorry... but foremost, I don't get the relation of the song to the MV..... [okay, lets just say it doesn't really have to have a direct connection on the song]...... but at least can't they have the scenes in the MV go together???
one scene we see a hospital.... next scene we see one of the girls act like a nurse or sumthing.... and then in the next there's this man pulled around by some girls.... and then he lies down the operation table..... and then he seen standing around kinda flirting with the other girls........ OKAY, can't we get the final concept already?????
I mean, all the scenes just failed to link with each other...... it seems like one of those random and haphazardly produced music videos we make back in high school......
I do understand the effects overload though...... since they're going with the kinda 70s-80s feel, videos during those times were an overkill of effects and colors too.... so let's let that pass......
but one thing that I can never agree to slip out of my palms is this.......
they could have used the tuxedo dance scenes...... those were better....
now why am I reacting like this..... hmmm it's either because it's really annoying.... or it's because I feel that these girls doesn't deserve this kind of comeback.......
like COME ON! they are the QUEENS of kpop (even us, blackjacks, admit that) giving them such mainstream music and video is never acceptable....... I just felt like fans were cheated..... if they managed to innovate new songs like The Boys, or I Got A Boy before.... then I don't believe they can't do it right now...... if they can't innovate, then at least stick to that for a moment...... but coming back to this kind of mainstream is a no no.......
well I might believe now what SM Ent said before, that their files got corrupted....... but then again, if that really happened, there's no need to hurry a comeback then! all they have to worry about is to re produce an amazing video...... like hello, a multi-million company like SM can seriously do that....... and if we talk fans?..... well fans will just rant for a moment and understand....... there's no point in hurrying and then compromising the quality anyway......
well I don't know... but I think SM failed to give more attention to SNSD right now...... [in as much as they always fail to give attention of f(x)]...... hello SM..... you're not composed of EXO ONLY..... you have lots of lives on your shoulder.......
no offense SNSD FANS...... sorry for the diss..... =)
