BLACK PINK Debut - Whistle / Boombayah!
Wednesday, August 17, 2016
So I quite haven't talked about the debut songs of Black Pink yet, thus I feel the need to do so.. and chajaaaan~! this post is it!

As you all have known (and I'm certain that all of you have seen the MV or even just heard the songs maybe), YG Entertainment debuted their 2nd girl group after 7 long years, and they are now the known BLACKPINK. wooohooo~!

So by any thin chance you haven't heard about these two debut songs/MVs yet, then please give me the honors to introduce them to you..... [drumrolls..................]

Let's go first with BOOMBAYAH

Boombayah is an EDM based song that basically talks about..... well about these girls having oozing charisma that you just can't stop but look at them when they enter the scene.... [naah!]
Seriously, this song just basically talks about them coming to the club and telling boys to stop fooling around them because they have a specific "man" in mind. [I tried, to think of it in another way, but I just can't. ahhahah!]

this song actually reminds me of 2NE1's Fire at first, but then it kinda differed throughout the song. One thing in common though, it tells us they are charismatic girls that their existence just can't be denied. But Black Pink's song is actually a mixture of swag, chic and cute. They actually tell other boys to back off but they call out "OPPA!" to the one they like.

And because this song is EDM, (and the lyrics kinda tell us so), then I can tell it's meant to give us the club like feel. Even the MV is as flashy as a club with the big speakers and posh outfits.

lastly, I can say LISA best fits this song, I was watching the MV repeatedly and Lalice just give me the feels that her swag just fits perfectly.

.........

their next song is called WHISTLE and this songs is about falling in love in a soft way like a whistle but it leaves a great impact in your heart.
I like this song better than the first one because it fits Black Pink perfectly. even the first few bars of the song, I already had the impression that this song is just so SWAG. It's soft rhythm and subtle hiphop vibe is LOVE! Then Lalice started rapping "Make 'em whistle like a missile" wow!! PERFECT!!!

But then again, I think the lead roles for this song goes to JENNIE and ROSE. I appreciated Jennie's rapping in this one, Her tone and flow is so girly and swag at the same time. [sorry I'm trying to put it in words right now, but I just can't. Bottom line is she's perfect in this song!] not only her rap was good but also her singing. I just came to love that bit husky but edgy voice! [especially that part "just Whistle to my heart"] LOVE LOOOOOOVE!!!!
And of course, Rose; she's indeed the main vocals of this team. Her clear voice just complimented with the subtle flow of the song.

so far listening to these songs definitely gives me the girly vibe these girls have despite the sennunnie concept.  Basically we can say they are SASSY! [oh! there, finally I found the right word to describe them. Trust me that one came in just now! LOL~!]
but then again these songs absolutely just tells me about clubs and parties and finding a man and falling in love in these kinds of places.TEDDY really??? [kinda think it's still to early to make these girls sing about those things don't you? but then again, generations right now have clubs full of kids their ages most especially in their country, so who am I to protest?? whahahah~!]
and still the iconic gibberish lyrics goes on. only YG!

.......

so just let me go over the members real quick.
like what I assessed on my previous post, [link here!] I think I didn't see the girls' image wrong.

JENNNIE - indeed the Sennunnie among all 4 of them.
I kinda have this LOVE-HATE thing going on with this kid. I used to like her back when she was first introduced to us through GD's ThatXX, but I kinda didn't like her bitchy face in her future activities that I thought she's too bitchy for a little girl. But now that she has grown and had their debut, I just can't help myself but adore her. Her strong charisma just fits perfectly to their whole group's image. And that eyeliner game is love! [I'm talking about her eyeliner that's so strong it almost erases her tiny eyes. hahah]

ROSE - yes the Elegant one in the group. Not only is she dressed most likely the lady in the group but her voice is so lovely that it adds up to her whole image. Yes that clear with unique quality voice! I also think this girl comes 2nd when we talk about visuals. She's really pretty!

JISOO - this unnie is just so fragile looking that she fits perfectly as the Pure and Girly image in the group. Despite the sexy crop tops and short-shorts the group wears, she's obviously the most wrapped among all of them. And it actually looks cute on her.
I kinda really like her, and she's my 2nd in the group. I've been keeping an eye on her in their MVs and live stages and I can obviously say she's the kinda "awkward". But don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing her. Let's just simply say, my over observant eyes and sharp ears tells me that she falls slightly behind her members. [Even her singing is kinda nasal which sounds weird. but that's her speaking voice actually and again, it sounds weird] On the contrary, she's indeed the actress in the group; that she perfectly knows how to put on her own role that she doesn't seem to be left out if you look at the team as a whole. MAKE BELIEVE, if we'd call it in acting class. ["papati" in my dialect. LOL!]. don't hate me tough, I love Jisoo. jut saying she's awkwardly cute.

lastly, LISA - all I can say is that when it comes to the hiphop feels, this girl indeed exudes it. No wonder she's perfect as the female face of Nonagon. Watching their MV, I can definitely say that her swag is a natural. May she be doing large or small movements, her swag just can't be denied. What I was surprised though is that, looking at the four of them, she has the most aegyo. I don't know if that's because of her dumpling cheeks or because, though she's full of charisma, her maknae feels just don't settle on the background that it surprisingly shows in the most random moments.

all in all these girls are indeed slaying even before they knew they are. And I actually find them adorable... whew... I think this is the start. [it's like how I started stanning iKON! ugh! my unnie heart. I just can't!] and yes, these girls are so PRETTY!!!!!

so this is all for my Black Pink post. I'll see you again real soon. and I believe that's going to be really soon.... the kpop scene has no chill and I'm kinda on no chill as well..hing!
love lots my lovies!!

BLACK PINK in the area~!
Friday, August 12, 2016
"make em Whistle like a Missile. Bomb, BOMB~!"

indeed these girls came to us like a missile bomb in a quiet night; teasing about their coming in a loud manner before they exploded even louder!

I say the whole KPOP world has flipped over that moment YG finally revealed to us their most awaited girl group, BLACK PINK.

Black Pink is YG's new girl group following the formation of the once known as the girl Big Bang; 2ne1. It's been about 5 years since YG first made known to us that he was preparing a new Girl Group from his pool of trainees, and since then we were greatly intrigued by it.
However a year after we were given a debut not of a girl group but boys instead; with the formation of WINNER and IKON.
and finally after being disappointed and years of waiting, we now welcome a new addition to the YG family.

BLACK PINK everybody~! [clapclapclap]

YG once told us that this girl group will be the "girly" sort; so you must have been expecting fairies like G-Friend or APINK. well sorry to disappoint, seems like fairies are not in the YG vocabulary.

Instead we were greeted by girls in leather skirts, bomber jackets and crop tops, and sneakers. Simply say, yes they are "girly" but with a big amount of SWAG.

The Kpop scene indeed fell into a sort of chaos when they finally dropped their debut MVs last Aug.8 since a lot of interest has been given to these girls.
it was a big scene even before the MVs when they first released an official dace practice video of Rhianna's Bitch better have my money. Almost thousands of fans around the world tried to learn and made covers of this.
[well YG has been giving us tiny bits of info for 5 years, whoever would not get intrigued by them?]

I say the arrival of Black Pink in the Hallyu Wave is indeed a breath of fresh air. On the verge of the sinking ship of cutie or sexy concepts, this debut is indeed like a life saver, a floater in other terms. How glad am I to see strong, not so sexy and not so girly concept after soooooo long. 아우우우우~ 시원해!!
and I think I don't stand alone, thus the reason why they've been killing charts and having their debut MV hits closer to 8 million already in the first 3 days since debut.
so this is the part where I say YG really doesn't settle on mainstream. [woohoo partey!]

I totally agree with what they say that these girls remind us of 2ne1. Simply because of how both groups broke out of the mainstream girl group formula and basically made their own concrete image that the world is possibly missing. You see that's absolutely true to both generations. How thankful can we get to see girls of their age doing some powerful dances without having to look cute and chummy all the time?
like what I said on my previous post, these girls are SENNUNNIES in the making... so you won't see them do the wink wink or the shoulder shoulder cutie steps in a while (or even never). [lol] I am absolutely rejoicing!

I say though, they are not a duplicate of 2ne1, simply they are just off springs (if you know what I mean). 2ne1 is 2ne1 and Black Pink is Black pink, they have similarities, but totally different entities. ugh! just grasp whatever I meant by that. I'm not even sure what I'm saying right now.  hahahah

personal observation: these girls are yet to unleash something to us. If I were to look at it, they still have a long way to go to prove themselves. as of now, they're just the 100% canned and trained idols. [no offense meant]. I say right now, their gaining a big amount of popularity mainly because they are something new and their music is no joke. THANK YOU TEDDY!! but if I look deeper, however I try to, they still are a bit canned. [peace!]

But with that talent and potential, I believe they'll soon unleash their inner artists and further surprise us all. so girls, FIGHTING~!

after so many changes and adjustments, these four girls finally made it! and they sure are making a lot of noise. and I love it! I just can't stop adoring them.

..........
well well, this entry is a bit boring I believe; because I think so to. [lol]. But stay put in the following days, I'm about to post something more fun. less serious than this one. sooooo. waaaiiiit foooor eeet~!..... [*winkwink]

PS: I still can't get used to saying "BP" as referring to Black Pink... because BP is originally BERNARD PARK for me.. wahahhah~!!... guess I have to take the longer way of typing the whole name in the future then. whew.

DEAN in Manila
Monday, August 8, 2016
It's just been a week since BTS and here I am again, going out of the house early in the morning not to catch some pokemon but to get my hands on those DEAN 130 mood: TRBL albums.

August 6,2016, Korean rapper Dean came to the country for a promotional tour for his new album. And as an avid fan of his music, I just can't say no to this one rare opportunity of meeting my long lost brother; DEAN. [squeels!]

So again, I stepped out of the house at 7am to join the REBELs at SM North Edsa as they wait for the 10am queuing time for the album selling.

The mechanics on how to get access to the show was this: you just need to buy a copy of DEAN's 130 Mood : TRBL album on the day of the show itself at the ASTROPLUS booth at SKYDOME and automatically you are given a pass to the show!
the first 200 copies will get CD signing privileges and to be one table away from Dean himself!
Another way to get access was to present a single receipt purchase from any store at SM NORTH Edsa worth P500.00 dated Aug2-6 and exchange it for a pass.
Also, 50 meet and greet winners were drawn from spotify users a day before; and that was another pass for the show.

although these might be a lot of ways, the passes are limited only to 1200 people and thus the "hunger games" began. [bwaahahahah~!]

side note:
HUNGER GAMES (n): a term I use to describe events that require falling in long lines just to purchase/acquire something that is of limited stock. Mostly applicable to concerts or events; may that be online or not.
[hahahha]

I was half hoping to be part of the first 200, though I dropped it off the moment I arrived at SM at 8am because the crowd was already crazy lot! [didn't expect that you know] they say some arrived at 4am, and others even camped out... WHAAAT?!
I came and already a long line of people greeted me. And thanks to these random girls I just came to ask info about, I was able to cut in the line and join them on the 400th que.. yes perks of going alone.... [thanks girls! hihihi]

So again, the queuing for the CD selling was supposed to start at 10am; as the mall would open. But fans were already there very early so the REBEL PH admin and staff had to facilitate the whole lining up and stuff. they gave us these (unofficial) queuing numbers to indicate where in the line you are supposed to be in relation to how early you got there or so. And I'm actually glad they did for it was a job well done for them! [clapclapclap!] it went really well. And best thing is, event they as the staff didn't prioritize themselves.
I was actually under the notion that among the 200 queuing numbers they were giving out, the first 50 or so were already meant for the staff. but it wasn't. I saw staff actually had to fall in line and even staff having numbers that fall on 212 or so. [see that's how it should be. fair and square!]

I was able to get my hands on a copy at 12:30pm and as you buy your CD, they give you little stubs to fill up your info and that they will use those stubs to draw 12 more winners for the meet and greet session.

..........
as for me, I didn't want to wait there until 5pm all alone so I went home for a while and tried to restart myself for that hunger games session I just got involved in was really draining. hahahah and thus the end of the first part of my day.

I came back at around 4pm and the Rebels were already starting to get inside the venue. I was able to stand in line with this girl names Daisy, and she was part of the 200 people to get her copy signed, I asked her what time she arrived and she said 4am. (left her home at 3am) now that's not normal!
anyway, good for her then, hahahaha! we separated as they had a place specially meant for them right in front of the stage and the others were just free to take the bleachers or the dance floor; I went for the bleachers.
again perks of being alone, I easily found a seat because there were unoccupied seats meant for one person on random places. whew! now that was easy. and later did I found out that those people I sat with were actually YG stans, INSEOs at that... nice to meet ya girls!

I got that one nice place facing directly into the stage with a very clear view. it was all nice and cozy place until this one girl stood in front of me like there was no one sitting at the back of her. like deng girl! where did your manners go!?
I mean, if one is sitting down isn't it that little space in front is supposed to be the leg space and thus understood to be still the place occupied by the one sitting down? so why are you standing there again?
I didn't say anything though. [which I kinda regret because I should have taught her what MANNERS should be] but I leave her to her own to figure it out. she was no kid anyway, she was a full grown woman and even older than me and I was not in any mood to be the taray one that day. Anyway what I did though was sit crossing my legs in front of me scraping her legs at that, trying to make sure she knew I existed. and eventually she did. she moved (a bit) nag abala ka pa!. ahhahah... you girl! unnie! I don't know what to call you. where did your manners go?!

anyway, move on!

before the show they gave out these illuminating bracelets that will serve as our light sticks during the show. but guess what, it was not of great use because all the others started using the flashlights on their phones and it was surprisingly better. ahahahah

the show started with front acts like KRISSY and CURSE & BLESS and finally came my brother! nice to finally see you Kuya! ahhahaha

He started his show with PUT MY HANDS ON YOU which eventually lead him to sing all the tracks in his album.

One of the most loved songs were BONNIE and CLYDE and POUR UP (which he performed on the encore.)
it was an uproar when he started rapping Zico's part on Pour Up. the crowd really loved that.

my personal fave. of course, was I'M SORRY. really thankful he added that to his line up.

at first I thought he was just a person who does rap in the most posh and most handsome way, but surprisingly he was full of swag. like crazy SWAG. and it was awesome!!

he knew fan service at it's best, thus he never fails to give fan cams in front of him a taste of his dashing smile. woh brother~!

after his performance, we stayed on our seats as the meet and greet winners went back stage in groups of ten to have their photos taken and probably exchange little words with him.
then he came back on stage for the cd signing event. As the winners of the even had their CDs signed, all the rest were just there observing their lucky souls and probably marveling on brother's beauty. [he's seriously handsome; you know]

Th organizers drawn 50 more names from the stabs they made us fill up earlier during the day to join the first 200 for the CD signing. and deng if you were lucky to still be there at the venue then, congratulations to you!
that was another Hunger Games though, so I didn't even hope for it (ughm I did actually, just a little) ahahahahh

and finally he stood up from the table and picked up the microphone and said thank you to all of us. and it was really the end of it.

thus that was how I met my long lost brother... [hahahah~!]

woh~! another best party I went to.
and again, I say, I'm glad I came.

after all those long lines, mood wrecking lady, and great show, what you take home would be these,
the 130 Mood :TRBL album
a little banner
a round fan with brother's beautiful face on it
and this "light stick"/ bracelet thingie

and of course a feeling you won't ever get over with for a long time! deng~!

..............................
[honestly not in my right track of mind as I am writing this, thus it's a little messy and long. sorry! BLACK PINK IS DISTRACTING ME! SORRY~!!!!! I'll be talking about Black Pink really soon so please watch out for that was well! love lots!]

BTS in MANILA - What you missed and What you already miss
Monday, August 1, 2016
[putting this warning ahead because this post might require 5 mins of your precious time.. but please do spare some and read. =) ]

July 30,2016 was indeed the MOST BEAUTIFUL MOMENT in the lives of the PH ARMYs because BTS finally came back after 2 years!

It was the PH leg of their EPILOGUE concert tour in line with the release of their full 화양연화 (The Most Beautiful Moment In Life) album. ARMYs absolutely enjoyed seeing their boys come to the country (well so did I *wink wink*)

I tell you I'm not an ARMY, but I seriously LOVE listening to their songs and probably never get tired of it. So that night, while the whole ARMY nation was spazzing, I was just there enjoying my time partying and appreciating 7 young and passionate men performing on stage. LOL~!

The concert started at around 6pm (didn't really check if it started 6pm sharp like what was said on the schedule, I mean you can't mind such thing if you're already there, right? but I'm sure it was not crazy late.)
as soon as the house lights went out, ARMYs were definitely on no chill as they played one last MV on the screen and the intro VTR and then the curtains went down and revealed 7 lovely boys in our midst.

(c) owner

they started with RUN followed by my fave song, DANGER [and I forgot to save my snap! denget!] and yes, the rest was history.
they performed 23 songs that night, and so here's the set list of that night's show.

(c) owner.

on the first few songs of the show, we were just enjoying on our seats and bouncing up and down to the music. Not util WE ARE BULLET PROOF was up and everyone was on their feet like crazy!

Of course not one song was less enjoyed than the other, but I say there were highlights that night that really made mark to every ARMY's heart.

1) Namjoon's solo:
ARMYs really gave back the love that leadernim gave to (the members and) his music. One of the most welcomed stage was RapMon's solo, WHAT AM I TO YOU. Despite his absence during the previous leg of their concert, ARMYs were definitely happy to see leadernim come and even perform his solo. neomu gamsahaeyo leadernim~!
[on a side note though, did you know I really do not like Namjoon. sorry to say this but his visuals distract me. but injeongs! he is a genius! but just don't let me stare at him. I just can't concentrate!! (my friend would actually even tease me "namjoon's wife" for it. hahaha)  But I might say, seeing him on stage is not that bad after all. is it either,
1: he constantly have his mic on his lips and I can't seem to be bothered by his Angelina Jolie lips, LOL!,
2: he lost weight, maybe because of the sick days he had, that his plump cheeks no longer looks as distracting as his lips, or
3: he's seriously tall and I kinda like it and I wanna cry!!!!!]
[sc: charmingjayy]

2) DOPE :
Indeed this song is one of the trademark songs of BTS. Who would not know BTS without knowing DOPE? everyone was off their seats during that song and was actually very crazy joining on some steps that they know (most especially the chorus). I was having a blast on that song really. if only they can do it 5 more times. HAHAHA!

3) No More Dream:
Of course who would not love it when your group would start performing their debut song on their concert? The nostalgia and the happiness of getting to know your boys for the first time would always be a treasure. They actually told us that it would be their last song for their main set on that night (of course they still have an encore coming) and fans were sad upon hearing that. but as soon as the music started, everyone was jumping again. (hahaha! happiness)

4)I need U
this was the last song during the encore, and they indeed made it special. They made the audience actually sing the first verse as they just lead us along the way  and it actually felt like connecting to the boys in the most special way we can ever imagine. [last songs are both the happiest and the saddest part of any concerts, that's the part you both feel glad that you came, and feel sad that it's ending

5)the ENCORE EVENT SUCCESS!
that was probably the winning moment of every ARMY on the lower box section (and also the ADMINS) that night. When the boys noticed the fandom's event for them.
So the event was to make the ARMYs at the left and right Lower Box section to hold up these boards of red and white that would spell 사랑해 (we love you) and 고마워 (thank you).

J-Hope was the one who noticed something happening at first, then Jimin. Hope was actually staring at both sides for a long while trying to make something out of it (using the last juices of his brain possibly. LOL!)  until finally Jimin read out loud "SA-RANG-HAE" and the whole left side box went crazy!! (I was on the left side. hihihi)
clap clap clap to the ADMINS and ARMYs! you did it!

bonus highlight) DANGER:
this is a personal pick. danger was the first BTS song and stage that I heard and watched and since then I already acknowledged their talents in dancing and their good music. And I never even imagined that I'd come to one of their concerts; which thankfully I did

The boys didn't disappoint that night I say, though it was a little obvious they are a bit losing some energy already, especially the encore part, it was shorter than usual (don't worry boys, two more shows to go!)
But they seriously tried to entertain us like crazy.
Suga was surprisingly game that night. (just one of the few times we can actually see him do so. concerts are indeed an exception. hahaha).
I loved how V would constantly say "MAHAL KO KAYO" in every opportunity he can. and even Hope and Jimin had their games on with some more Tagalog phrases they learned.
I was actually happy to see JIN live, how beautiful he really is. Weird thing though I would always have images of him doing EAT JIN every time I hear his speaking voice. I'm an EAT JIN fan you know. I must have watched a lot of his episodes already that I associate his speaking voice to his program automatically.
And yes, JIMIN was surprisingly handsome.....? really.

Some songs that I enjoyed personally were
DANGER,
BOY IN LUV,
SAVE ME [trust me until now I can still vividly see J-hope doing his part on Save Me. it keeps on playing in my mind and I don't know why it has to be Hobi's part. HAHAHA!]
FIRE,
WE ARE BULLET PROOF [click click, bang bang!]
BAEPSAE,
DOPE
ATTACK ON BANGTAN and
NO MORE DREAM.
I'd like to add Cypher on the list though but the Cypher that I was looking forward to was the PT2 ("Nugu taemune") and it didn't happen. CRY~!

I really LOVED Suga that night. I would always give him a thumbs up and a affirming nod every time he finished his part, like saying "good job" for his rapping is actual CRAZY!!! I'd always get that JYP-on-Kpopstar reaction every time Yoonggi raps and I finally witnessed it right before my eyes, and  I will always give him that thumbs up and approving nod in the future. SUGA you are one of a kind!

Again, like what I said at the beginning that I am not an ARMY, I just came with a best friend who is a full blooded one. [same person who is the reason why I seem to know the boys deeply]

But if you ask me what I came to realize in this concert, I would say I just confirmed with my own eyes and own heart what I would always see on videos my friend would (forcefully. JOKE!) make me watch; that BTS lives for their music, their members and their fans.

From what I see in BTS is that each member is important to their existence and they would refuse to make music if it's for their own personal gain and not for the whole team. It's like BTS or NEVER. which loyalty I could not find in any other groups that I came to know so far. (and I think it would stay like that for a longer time).

The boys share this connection that they also want to share with the fans. For BTS, the ARMYs are like family. That they are not doing music because they want ARMYs to make them rich and famous but they are doing their music because it's their only way to connect with the ARMYs, something like they want their relationship with the ARMYs not to be the FAN-IDOL relationship but the "family" kind of relationship (and if they can just talk to each Army one by one, they would actually do so). And I definitely felt the sincerity in them that night. They said goodbye to fans with watery eyes like we would never see each other again. (just come back boys! no need to cry! Though it might be another long wait)

[insert this part: I would always love the way they would lovingly wave to the fans good bye in every end of the concert and the fans just can't stop but wave back. now that's the real connection we are talking about.]

(c) LA Cadsawan

the last part of the concert really touched me and it made me kind of envious of the ARMYs for having such loving boys by their side. During the closing VTR, the last frame was a text saying:

"SPECIAL THANKS to: THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ARMY"

they seriously can never forget about the ARMY and never fail to make them feel they are the most special people in the world.
now I really understand why ARMYs would really do great heights for the boys. Because the boys are doing great heights for the ARMYs as well. I used to think ARMYs are just plain crazy! But witnessing that connection with my own eyes between the boys and them made me understand why.
ARMYdeul! JOKETA!

[but then seriously, some ARMYs are going overboard. please be careful. Hurting yourselves because of your fancy for the boys is just like hurting the boys equally. They care about you guys to the point where Namjoon would always not forget to tell people in all their concerts and gatherings to be careful and not push each other. so don't waste that love they are giving. (si hubs ko pa naman yung sobrang nag c-care! JOOOOOOKE!!!)]

I personally enjoyed this concert. It's always nice to just come and enjoy some good music and good performance sometimes; and not spazz on the celebrities. I'm still having the hang of all of it and I think I will still save my videos on my phone and watch it from time to time in a longer while. *wink wink*
and seriously, I give so much respect for BTS after coming to their concert.... I'm really glad I came!
[wasn't able to get blog-worthy photos though, I was busy partying... ahahhaha]

and lastly,
KUDOS to the organizers! to INANG REYNA and her staff! shout out to you!!! I've seen how organized it is this time around (compared to the ones I've been to before. no hate) finally, talagang expert ka na INANG! and we will always trust you in all our KPOP concerts in the future. You can't go wrong with Inang Reyna! hahaha~! THANK YOU~!
