I will and I will ALWAYS be a fan of the Reply series........

so just finished watching it's 2nd installation, REPLY 1994..... and yes again, TvN made another genius!!

the REPLY series just seriously makes you wanna jump out of the 21st century and back to the 90's.

now I know what you're expecting from this post is my comparison of the two series, so let's do that, but first, let me talk a little about 1994... =)

so REPLY 1994 highlighted the budding popularity of Basketball, baseball, and kpop during that year. it was a story about college kids in a boarding house in Seoul who started their one of a kind friendship with each other.

this series however, emphasized more on the love interests of the kids, the beeper technology, and Seo Taji and Boys. other stuffs were just side dishes...

what I love about the 1994 series though is how they took you through a timeline of the passing years, from 1994-2002, before they eventually skipped to 2013.. thumbs up to the researchers for taking in exact news clips, sports recaps, and music shows from those years. the series itself became a memory lane.

passing by year 1997, it was amazing how they included the 1997 gang to the story. like it (reply1994) was

some kind of a prequel to the series (reply1997). even in the year 2013, Siwon's new family was highlighted. it gave us the feeling that it was one single series all in all.

[and yes, I was seriously glad to see the 1997 gang again, most esp. Sung Siwon and Yoon Yoonjae..... this team up is seriously <3 div="">

I personally love 1997 though. it was a series that I can totally relate (fangirling)...... but that's not the total reason why. I loved the 1997 series because although it was also centered in the love interests of each and everyone, it still didn't forget those little details of the fads that year. things like the Tamagochi, Slam Dunk, HOT and SEICH KISS, chat rooms, the growth of social networks, even the fluffy slippers and cassette tape players, etc. were given emphasis throughout the series.

where as in 1994, it was only the telecommunication technology that was emphasized.

even the team up (1997) were awesome.... the Seo Inguk and Jung Eunji team up is seriously one of the best team ups ever made in Kdrama history (no exaggerations intended)..

I'm not quite sure though, if is it just because of the generation that I just can't relate to 1994 (since I was just born that time), or is it really 1997 was better.....

but seriously, for me 1997 was of a GREAT impact. and I will never get tired of it....

[yeah, went scanning through episode clips again, and I seriously LOVE it!]

well, I heard they're making another Reply series..... and I can't wait to watch it..... bet it will be another work of genius....

but PS to 1994: it was only in this series that i deeply appreciate BARO (B1A4) and DOHEE (Tiny-G)... they're so visual-y... ahahhaha LOL
