REPLY 1988
Wednesday, March 2, 2016
long time no update right? sure you kinda missed me so here I am back with new feels I got from this recent drama I finished.

To every one who watched it already, you probably feel the same separation anxiety as I do, and to those who still hadn't watched this, I say go and watch it. like RIGHT NOW! ahahahha
[and this is kind of a spoiler so you might want to close this first and read it again when you completed watching the drama. just saying. hihihih]

so what have I been talking about? It's this;

the moment I knew that there would be another addition to the Reply Series, I was actually excited to watch it already. and so I really didn't miss the chance to do so.

Reply 1988 is the new addition to the well loved "Answer Me" series that we all had been enjoying; but again, this is a whole new setting and story from the other two Reply series.

Reply 1988 evolves around a neighborhood in Seoul; Sangmundong. Where five families lived in one
neighborhood alley who shared their daily lives together and where we see kids who grew up together.

This series has a bit different feel from the two previous Reply series because it focuses mainly on the topic about family and the 5 kids' (DukSeon, Jung hwan, Sun Woo, Taek and Dong Ryong) friendship. And the love lines were just mere side dishes to the whole story.

In this drama also, we are showed that not only the children have great bonds of friendship, but the parents as well. Which makes the whole neighborhood families an extended family member of each other. They cared about each others household issues, and helped out solving them.

What I loved about watching this drama is how they highlighted the reality of what exactly happens inside a home, no matter what status you have, it is still definite that your family has an issue to
resolve and that is the reality of  our everyday world. It shows what the kids are worrying about their parents and what the parents are worrying about their children.
I also really love how they give emphasis on FAMILY, like how annoyed we get with our family members but in the end, we understand them and love them more in each passing day. [this actually is true to all Answer Me series]

But you see above all of these, one thing that touched me the most is the kind of friendship these 5 kids shared. they grew up together, shared meals together, get in trouble together, fought with each other, but still they were by each other's sides. such friendship maybe that I dreamed of having.
[well I never had that kind of opportunity; to befriend kids in my neighborhood you know, we kept on transferring homes since I was little. and the age gaps here are diverse. hahahah. don't get me wrong though, I have great friends, but they're not in the same neighborhood as mine. LOL!]

if I were to rate this, I'll give it a 5 out of 5. [though I intended to deduct one bec. one of my my OTPs (Jungpal and Dukseon) didn't end up together. But I'll let that pass] This Drama was indeed one of the best dramas in history. it was well researched and (I dare say) no plot holes at all. this is a genius! [same is true with all the Reply Series] over all I totally suggest you watch this. There's so much to see, so much to learn and so much to realize in this series.

lastly, I say KUDOS to the Director (Shin Won-ho) and writer (Lee Woo-Jung) for bringing us yet another awesome Reply series! I've been saying this always, and I'm saying this again, "You can never go wrong over a TvN drama, most especially the Reply Series."

btw, more than the lessons about family that we get from each Answer Me series, there's also one thing that is consistent in all the 3, it's these two people. Now I won't even be surprised if they'd still be a couple for the next Reply series(if ever there is). hahahah! forever parents!

PS:

my OTP! SunWoo-BoRa!
