DAY6 YOUTH in mnl - THE LONG WAIT OVER

as promised from that one blog previously, I was on my way to another show. so here we are. Ladies and Gentlemen... the longest wait is finally over. please welcomeDAY6!!!!!!
finally our long wait was over. For three years we wanted to see them here and they finally came. [seryoso. patay na patay na kaming lahat.]

So yeah. OCT 6 , 2018 was DAY6's first show in the PH.
as said it has been long since My Days(fandom name) were waiting for their coming to the country and hell yeah did we really give them a show of a lifetime.
ANYWAY before all of that. let's get from the beginning shall we.
you might ask why the hell did I go to a DAY6 concert when I'm such pop culture fan?
my answer is... YOU DON'T KNOW ME WELL. Firstly, I'm, not totally mainstream that's just 30% of me and my music. I'm mostly KHIPHOP, KBALLADS, KACCOUSTICS, KINDIES and yes, KBANDS.
see my music roots came from bands. Though Back Street Boys and Spice Girls were already in the picture, the time I really appreciated music and thought that it's just not some "noise" was when I started listening to PARAMORE way back 2008. most of my music roots are really alternative rock. Like music from Urbandub, Callalili, Updarma down, Simple Plan. and some solid rock like Guns N' Roses. Soooooo.... please enough of the "I thought kpop ka lang" stories. hahahahha....
So yeah. That's why I was at KIA THEATER last Saturday and is blogging about it now because of my love for Alter-rock music.
This show was brought to us by My Music Taste, and again, I'm so impressed. *clap clap clap* other than the looong lines where VIP pips had to suffer just to get their wristbands, everything was in order. Very MMT. It's my second time to go to a concert under them and I can say I fully trust them already. LEZGO MMT!!!!
fast forward to the show. Gates opened promptly at 5pm and it gave us 2hours liberty time to stay put and get ready for the show. At 7:09 pm the last song on the house went off and the show started. I'm just in love just by seeing their silhouettes getting ready for the show.
and there goes the first song. Their first song was the ever famous I SMILE that's probably the song that pulled people in to them. I know a lot whom, if not a stan, became an avid listener because of this song.
well of course for a show like this, good music was given. I mean for a person who's always hungry for good music, this would seriously pass your standards. It was given truly live from the instruments to the vocals, not even a single track at the sides. I'm crying hard. Every strum and every drum beat shots straight to the heart. waaaa!!!! HOW DID THEY EVEN SURVIVE A 3HOUR SHOW?!?!?
Few of the most highlighted parts were:
-Firstly, Dowoon's English time. Other non-English speaking members were also trying to speak English, but when it's Dowoon's time, it becomes cute and funny. I don't know why.
-So after all the fun, Jae finally said they are nearing the last set for the show. and all of us were shouting "WALANG UUWI" (nobody goes home) and all 5 members were somewhat dumbfounded on what thehell are we shouting out. Their eyes were seriously filled with curiosity trying to word out what we were shouting whether it was Korean or English or What. instead they just nodded riding the chant. And later did we know he Dowoon already joined in to make a beat for us. What a connection we have there.
-Now this was kind of surprising to me and I will never forget. After the first set, they had a comment break where they went on and talked to My Days and have a little chitchat. This was the best part ever. I'll break them down in numbers so it wont be so cramped up.
1) I don't know but mostly of the concerts I've went to were just plain small talks and whatnots, but this was the first concert I went where I was dying of laughter. Others were just a simple comment break maybe just few exchanges with the artist and the screaming fans. But this time it felt like I was watching a variety show where Day6 are guests and I'm laughing so hard.
2) Another that made that comment break epic was when they started to talk about the food that they tried here in the PH. Jae started talking about how he had lechon and such. Then here comes Wonpil talking about IBA JUICE and My Days were quiet. Then he just went and "Ah you didn't know" in Korean. hahahahhah.... I mean we know IBA/Gambas as a friut, well from my city at least. but I don't know where did he get that Iba Juice. I didn't even know it existed. he was definitely embarrassed and just laughed it out.
We were all waiting for them to mention Jollibee since it's the most famous here in the PH and almost all artists who come here have Jollibee. To my surprise I think they yet didn't have some, that it was not that familiar to them.
We kept on shouting JOLLIBEE and Wonpil just can't catch it. Funny he though we said "scallops" in Korean and he even said "ahhhh so it is also 가리비(karibi) in here" WAHAHAHHAHAHAH I died laughing. malapit din naman ang Jollibee sa Karibi. whahahahhahahahhahah!!!! Jae got it and said "AAAH JOLLIBEE" but Wonpil kept on with Karibi. until he had to hear it in a different intonation that he got what we wanted to say. Brian was "oh so you all are talking about food. are you hungry?!" we all were actually.
hahahahhahah boys. what did you do for the passed two days you were here in PH and you haven't had kahit JOLLI SPAGHETTI nalang!??!?!?!
3)lastly for this comment break, one of the best moments was when each members had this "yeah yeah yeaaaah" chant that they have us copy them. Brian started, and other members followed suit. Brian with his RnB voice, Sungjin with his husky acoustic voice, Jae and his rock voice, he even had the courage to promote JaeSix while doing it. SKILLS. Then Dowoon in his cute flat voice, and lastly Wonpil and his jazzy roots. seriously had a good laugh of with each turn.

Best songs of night were I WAIT, where we all made a good job with the fanchant. And if fanchant of that night is the case, I say, no one can get any better than SHOOT ME. Now that was a FANCHANT. Everyone was hyped up on that song and apart from all other songs where PH fans would sing along, these two songs, we were all sincerely fanchanting. clap clap to us.
hahahah side note though, it might be known for PH fans to sing along the artist's songs and not do a fanchant that in the beginning, Brian even said "I heard you're all great singers" woohoooo
And I seriously loved how they started their last set with Congratulations which was immediately followed by You were Beautiful. perfectly placed side by side.
Now everything was already perfect. I was in a perfect seat, not too far and not too close, I was seated that I can just comfortably listen to them(like what I wanted to do since the beginning). I was at the Lodge(2nd floor). I was at peace. At some time during the middle of the show, I was quietly listening to them then I started praying a thank you prayer. (weird of me) I just said, a simple thanks to the Lord for bringing me there though I might not be fully deserving to have such reward.(I take that back I deserved this).
MyDays were really that eager for Day6. I can seriously feel that. Official MY DAY PH even prepared a video for the boys during the Encore stage, and it was BEAUTIFUL!!!! How happy were we to finally have them here.
at the end of the show, during the Encore. They all were already singing through tracks with all their instruments down. Jae started to get more hyped up. He took his mic and went down to the VIP section. Jammed a little beyond the barricade that separated him from My Days and went out the fire exit.
I actually waited a little for him to go back stage but it took him so long, he didn't come back out. and then I knew. HE WAS GOING FOR THE 2nd FLOOR!!!!! True enough he came running at my back passing thru going to the center of the lodge and there he was jumping up and down. crazy guy. but we loved him.
everyone was having their attention to Jae when Sungjin came unannounced. he stopped by my section which gave me the opportunity to go close. so I came to him . basically I wanted to pass him my phone for a selca from him. but he didn't. Everyone were with Jae, only a few people came to Bob. He was about to go back the door when he passed by me. I touched his arm to call his attention, true enough I got his attention, he looked my way and gave me a smile and a bow. How kind. then he went back and out the door. hahahahahha I haven't have a pic. Whatever. I could have grabbed his head though. I wanted to feel his shaved head. but that's too rude. LOL

all in all I had the greatest night ever. I've been to a lot of shows and concerts and this is by far the BEST!!! BESTTT!!!! TOP1!!! I CANT EVEN!!!
at the end of the day, I chose the right place. I was on a dilemma at first if should I exchange my ticket to a center one. but I realized if it was the center lodge I couldn't have went and have that unexpected "hi" with Bob and his shaved head. I did great. *taps my shoulder*
basically, you know what I was thankful about? it was because I felt genuine happiness during the show. ewan mga meds, pero as compared to other concerts I've went too, I always go home with little "sana" on the sides, but this one, I had none. Like what I said earlier, middle of the show, I was already satisfied. But God surprises me more when I pray. So he led Jae close to where I was. hahahah char. Pero seryoso.
[the only regret ko siguro is I didn't even thought of asking Sungjin that towel when we had that 5sec encounter. sure naman ako, he'll give it to me when I asked. charlang]
Truly no regrets. 100 HAPPY!
I kinda loved how it was in Kia. Kia Theater is seriously getting on to me. I think it was the best place for a humble and intimate show. it was not too big that the fans and artist can interact and feel each other. Now I get why most fan meetings are held there. best place I say.

So before I end this Blog. let me have a quick "what I think about" each member shall we
1)JAE. JAE JAE the ever hyped person. he was seriously a jumping fireball. PA-INTO(show off) was my term for him. but in a good way. Seriously no offense meant. Every time they have a show or a performance, he always turn into this person you won't expect on his normal self. He transforms to rocker Jae. That night he was just to hyped. There was one song where he would usually take the line, but he said he was too hyped that night that he dropped it to let My Days sing it. I forgot what. Help me. what was that again?
Well I just love Jae. He's seriously the Jae that I loved. and yeah, thanks for hyping up and coming up to us dude. Next time, please request for a lapel mic. so you can just go anywhere okay? hahahahah
sidenote though, when we all thought Jae was a lanky person, he was actually not. He had a big frame for a thin person. I seriously thought he was so thin and so small, but seeing him a meter away, he was actually big. well he's frame is big. he's tall. a little food inside him could make his proportions a killer. sheeeeet!!!!
2)Sungjin. Normal BOB... ahhahahahah I kinda don't like his shaved head so I didn't really look to him. Like in all varieties we watched of them, Sungjin is just him. Uncle image just quiet in the sides and trying his best to entertain when he had the chance.
Now this one person I had a quick exchange and looking at him face to face, I can really say, if he just didn't shave his head, he could have looked a legit Jungkook to me. hahahahh. I was facing him and I just saw how not flawless his skin was. me pores eh. but it looked healthy. ughm,,, stylists... how did you do their makeup??? please teach me!!!
3) YoungK. BRIAAAN!!!! the ever smiling guy. I get why people would really fall for him. He was all smiles, face brightly shining up all night. And yes he was FAB!!! He's FAB AS EVER I JUST CAN'T!!! he was directly standing where I was seated and I can feel his fabness till the second floor. seeing him in flesh just made my conclusion true. HE'S THE BEST DEFINITION OF A FABULOUS MAN.
4) WONPIL. Just again the Wonpil that we knew and loved. He was humble at the sides and just waited for the members to pass him the mic and say what he has to say. Among the non-English members, he was mostly the one who gave the translator more work. LOL. He talked in Korean most of the time. Well he just maybe didn't want to give himself a hard time for his English is not yet complete. One time he made me laugh hard was when he forgot his part on Warning. He was too hyped maybe with his piano that he forgot to sing his part. Sungjin tried to assist him but we all knew. and he started laughing as well. Even Brian at his side was laughing hard. hahahahah.
I loved how he said during his closing spiel, "May you have a great Youth". it hit home and I just wanted to say thank you to him.
5)DOWOON. Now this cutie was the highlight of our night. This kid was not just DAY6's maknae but of all of ours. We were all attentive to him and whatever he does. He's English attempts that made us all laugh. Funny Brian would always make him speak and he would just go "Sungjin toss!!" [BEH MAY NALALAMAN NA TOSS!!!] hahaahha he wanted to make Sungjin take the English Time, but it always goes back to him. TOO CUTE. I bet everyone was too in love with this kid that night. I was. I wanted to keep him.
So loves..... that was me and my DAY6 experience. Seriously the wait was very worth it. I kind of promised next time, maybe I'll try a standing for a Day6 con. I won't even fight for the front barricade row, just standing at the back and jamming for the whole time would be worth it.
KUDOS to MY DAYS though they were really behave. I was watching the standing section during the con and they were not pushing. it was calm. I loved it.
Surprisingly most of the goers were kids. it was a range of 15-28 year olds at an average. And not a single immature act was there. VERY GOOD FAM!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!
we even supported each other when the Boys gave their closing spiel, every time the boys started to speak, not a single sound from My Days was heard... everyone was hushing each other and in seconds Kia Theater was silent. not even a single scream from a person during a member spiel.
FAAAAM!!! GOOD JOB!!!!
I think what made this night the best was because everything was doing great. The place, the organizer, the fans and the Artists were perfect. I LOVE IT!!!!
lastly, during the show, I finally understood why Day6 chose a band instead of a bong. See for a group like Day6, they mostly need the participation of the fans. So to say, the need the fans to clap their hands thus if they are holding a bong, they cannot. So there. A band was made to free their hands. Being able to attend their concert, they really make the people clap to the beat. yes JYP. good thinking
